Eine Schule für Kinder mit Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalten in Garowe
1.Juni 2021 begann der Bau der ersten Cleft Schule in Somalia, dieses Projekt wird von unserer Partner Organisation Reiner Meutsch Stiftung FLY & HELP finanziert. Die Einrichtung besteht aus vier Klassenräumen, einer Bücherei und einem Verwaltungsraum und zwei Sanitätsräumen.
SOMCARE bekam einen Spender aus Deutschland der die gesamten Schulmöbel für diese Schule spendete. Den Transport der Möbel wurde ermöglicht durch einen Transportkostenzuschuss (TKZ) durch die Engagement Global im Rahmen der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Diese Schule soll Kindern mit Lippen-und Gaumenspalten nach der Operation eine Rehabilitationsleistung, wie Alphabetisierung und Sprachtherapie bekommen. Garowe liegt im Nordosten Somalias ist die Hauptstadt der Region Nugaal und Verwaltungshauptstadt des Bundesstaates Puntland im Norden Somalias.
SOMCARE möchte auch die Kreativität der Kinder und ihre Fähigkeit zum selbständigen Denken fördern. Daher wollen wir bis sechs Stunden Handarbeitsunterricht pro Woche anbieten.

The modern health center with two operating rooms, 40 beds, a laboratory and a pharmacy is now a central contact point for children with clefts from all over Somalia and parts of Ethiopia. The clinic is also the only option for many people in the southern parts of the city of Garowe and surrounding villages to receive medical treatment. The city of Garowe, with its approximately 400,000 inhabitants, is the political and economic capital of the Somali region of Puntland.
